Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble is the advanced concert band at Manatee High School. Participation in Wind Ensemble requires advanced skills in musicianship and instrumental technique, as well as a mature attitude toward rehearsals and performances. The Wind Ensemble performs advanced level high school, collegiate and professional level musical literature. The Wind Ensemble performs an average of four times a year including the FBA concert band evaluations.
 
 

Symphonic Band
Symphonic Band is the intermediate level band at Manatee High School. It is a performing band. Participation in Symphonic Band requires a solid understanding of rhythmic reading, moderate to advanced technical instrumental skills, and a mature attitude toward rehearsals and performances. Symphonic Band performs an average of three times a year including participation in the FBA concert band evaluations.
 
 

Concert Band
Concert Band is the entry level band class at Manatee High School. Participation in Concert Band requires a good foundation of rhythmic reading and an understanding of the fundamental techniques of playing an instrument. Concert Band is a performing band performing an average of twice a year.
