The Marching 'Canes had a very good showing at the "Music On The Move" competition held at Venice HS stadium this past Saturday! Our band finished 3rd overall out of 10 bands at the competition and recieved an overall "Superior" rating. We hope to fair even better as we travel to King HS in Tampa for the "Lion's Pride" competition this Saturday.
We hope that family and friends will make the trip to Tampa to show support for the Marching 'Canes, and to see the colorful pagentry of bands in competition. Band competitions provide a wonderful "bands only" venue where we can really showcase what we do! Come out, check it out, and cheer on the Marching 'Canes! You'll be glad you did.
This is "Islands of Adventure" Weekend!
After the competition on Saturday, we have our mid-season "relaxation and reflection" trip to Universal Studio's "Islands of Adventure" theme park. After weeks of hard work our members have earned a much needed break to relax and be together in a fun atmosphere. It will be a great time!!
We'll leave Tampa after the competition for our overnight stay just outside of Orlando, and spend Sunday at the park. Click on the itinerary link below for all of the details.

We travel to Kathleen HS in Lakeland this Friday for our football game.
Report time for the game this Friday will be 4 PM. Band students should report in their uniforms since we will not have a run-through prior to departure this week.

Brochures for the Southern Heritage fundraiser were passed out at practice Tuesday night, October 10th.
